My Baby is No longer a Baby!

Wow I can't believe my Baby is a YEAR OLD and that summer is not only gone but it is almost October! This summer flew! We were blessed to be able to have lots of fun with family and friends this summer. We spent a week camping and boating with Ethan's family and some friends which was a blast. We forgot our camera on that trip :(. But we discovered that Landon LOVES water. He swam out in the Lake with us and loved boating. He seems to love camping as much as his parents do! In August we spent a week with the Gonda family in Reno. We had such a great time seeing all of our Family! And Landon loved Lake Tahoe and threw a fit when we took him out of the water. We forgot our camera on that trip as well. :( Then in early September Landon and I left Ethan at home and went to Texas to spend time with Nick and welcome Nathan home. It was hard being away from Ethan so long but so fun being with my family. My parents gave me a little vacation for a few days as well, constantly taking care of Landon, which was wonderful! Especially when Landon was up at 5AM! We have been abundantly blessed this summer!!! I wish all year was full of fun and family like summers are!

Landon is turning into such a handsome fellow!

His looks are starting to change a little bit...
he is turning into a toddler!

So Landon loves to play with this cap (of my hair cream) and the other day I found him scooting around the house collecting spilt cheerios and putting them in his cap for a snack later.

These are one set of cupcakes I made for Landon's Birthday.
For my Birthday my mother-in-law bought me a Martha Stewart Cupcake cookbook and so I decided to give some a try. I thought they turned out pretty good. Can you tell what they are supposed to be?

Landon on his First Birthday!!!
We met the Hanson family at the park for cupcakes.

Looking up at Dad...

Nothing like a cold drink of water, yum...

"Mom what's with the camera always in my face, I'm trying to play here"
-Landon

Climbing over the ledge.

He wasn't so sure about all those cupcakes...

I made these as well, using recipes from the cookbook

This was taken in the morning of his birthday. We hung streamers up all over the house that hung within his reach. He had a great time ripping them down. We also wrapped his gifts in streamers which were a blast to rip off.

Earlier this month Nathan made is safely back from the Dominican Republic. It was a lot of fun for Landon to meet his Uncle. They seemed to bond instantly!
Nephew and Uncle
Landon is so lucky to have the best Uncles!
We stayed with Nick while my parents were in the D.R. picking up Nathan. Landon grew very fond of his uncle and
cried when Nick would leave the room.

This is his latest trick, clapping his hands.
He has also mastered nodding his head, which is how he dances as well.
His Grandparents have blessed our lives with several musical toys which he loves to play and dance too... It's super cute.

One of his favorite things to do is help me with the dishes.

One day while doing my makeup I smelt an awfully strong odor. It took me a while to discover what it was.... Landon had some broken one of my nail polishes and painted himself and the bathroom!!!
Hot Pink Nail Polish was EVERYWHERE!
This is After about 30minutes of scrubbing!

Luckily it did not take too long to take it all off!
His Dad wasn't too excited about his son walking around with Hot Pink all over him so Ethan did most of the scrubbing.
Enjoying his first piece of candy.
Ethan's Dad gave us some tickets to a Bats Baseball game
Landon seemed to enjoy his first baseball game a lot!

Such a Super Summer

We Surprised my mom and Grandma in Atlanta!
It was a last minute change of plans so we knew they would truly be surprised. And let me tell you they were in shock. Mom was taking out the trash when we drove up. She had never seen our new car so did not recognize us. She gave us her "who are you" scowl until she really saw us. Then she screamed so loud she scared Landon and he started to cry. It was priceless! Grandma thought that the dog had gotten out or something. We had such a great time there! And as you can tell from the pictures the Grandma and Great Grandma loved every minute of it!
Kisses from Grandma to her sweet grandbaby

Landon has discovered the camera and posses for it!
I did not even need to say smile.

They've really bonded.

Check out my Grandma's new quilt that I helped her pick out.
We spent a lot of time cleaning up her room.
Not that it was dirty, but that it needed some decluttering.

4 generations!
I love this picture!!!
Check out how Great Grandma and Landon match!

Summer has officially Arrived!!!!
We bought Landon his first little pool.
He loves it! And is fearless! He will crawl around (still on his belly)
even though his mouth is under water, like its no big deal. I have to watch him like a hawk!
It's a whale pool!

Ok so I know this is mean, but I think Landon is just too cute when he is upset.
Here he is very upset because he wants to be held so he is crying and crawling to me.

Landon is getting into everything now that he has learned how to climb.
He LOVES getting into the dishwasher and pulling the dishes out.

He has even figured out how to climb up the side of walls!
He is still working on the sitting back down part.
Right now he just drops on his bum (pretty hard) and cries everytime.

THE GARDEN... almost 2 months old
I took this picture while standing in my neighbors back yard.
You can see our garage and shed. I'm not sure if you can tell but our cucumber plants have grown onto their driveway! The garden has just exploded!

Ok you have to search, but this is a picture of a little tomato first growing.
This is from our tomato plant that we planted from seed directly into the garden!

These are tomatoes from just one of our plants that were put in as plants.

We have cucumbers growing!!!
This one is actually growing outside of the garden area.

To help put it all in perspective Ethan modeled for me, he is 5'11''!
Those tomato plants directly in front of him were the ones we planted from seeds.

I think we got a little over ambitious with how much we planted.
When we first planted the seeds we thought, oh wow we have so much room to spare.
We are now rethinking those thoughts! We have learned so much, I can't wait till next year!

The Garden

This is a peach tree that is in our backyard.
A couple of the limbs had to cut because they were dead when we bought the house, but the tree seems to be doing really well.
This is what the peaches look like right now!
I don't like peaches a whole lot, but I'm hoping these taste good!
Well this is our garden. We decided to try a raised garden. We got a great deal on the "garden mix" dirt, we got what we paid for. Haha, it's not very good dirt and has many rocks in it. We currently have a compost, so by the time we plant next year we should have a lot better soil to work with. We have made many mistakes and have learned a lot. This is the first time either one of us have Ever tried gowing anything. We planted it a month ago. We are amazed at how much has grown in such a short period of time. My goal is to enjoy at least one thing from all I planted.
These are our cucumber plants.
By far our most successfull thing we planted.
In fact they are beginning to take over the garden.

These are the tomato plants we planted from seed.
All the other tomato plants were given to us by our backyard neighbors.
They are great with plants and have taught us so much!

I wanted to show how tall everything is. So you can use me as a reference.

The plants circled are watermelon plants.

8 Months Old

Landon's Latest:

  • Landon's new absolute favorite thing to do is walk. He can't walk on his own yet, but will cry and fuss untill someone is willing to help him walk around. He recently got his hands on a walker and just thinks its the greatest thing ever. He is super wobbly but still loves it!
  • Landon has mastered the art of picking up food and putting it in his mouth. He crawls around the kitchen and will put anything he sees in his mouth and eat it. Thus I have learned to clean the floor everyday.
  • Landon has started to learn what the word "no" means. He loves to play with paper and is allowed to as long as he doesn't eat it. Well the other day he was playing with some paper and when he brought it to his mouth I said "no". He then pulled the paper away so I said "good boy." Then he tries again, and I say "no" and he pulls the paper away so I say "good boy" this goes on a few more times, untill he turns his back and as quickly as he can shoves a huge piece of paper into his mouth. Followed by a huge grin. So I think he has figured out that "no" means he has to be sneeky about it.
  • Landon has been very verbal from an early age and has been saying "dada" for a long time. I've been trying oh so hard to get him to utter the slightest "mama" but everytime I tell him "say mama" he smiles and says "Dada." I love my little Bugger but I have a feeling he is going to keep me on my toes!
Ethan and I had the wonderful opportunity to visit our Grandmas!!!
We had the best time visiting with them and sharing our little bundle of joy.
Landon loved being with his Great Grandmas!
Landon and Ethan both enjoyed Nanny's special massage chair.

Nanny with her Grandson and Great Grandson.

I think Landon has a little bit of his Mammy in him.
They both gave me the same "not another picture" look.
Landon loved sitting going for rides on Mammy's spiffy chair.
We had such a great time in Atlanta, we were sad to leave.

Landon and Great Uncle Reed bonding.

Look at that tongue!

Mammy and Landon.
I was so impressed with Landon, he did really good sitting
somewhat still on Mammy's lap.

Two of Landon's favorites, the car and the dog.
He just thought he was hot stuff in that car!

Celebrating Landon's 8 month birthday!
Only he didn't really get to celebrate because
we blew out the candle and ate the cupcake.
